Alexandria Water Company Continues Expansion of Electronic Linkage Between Commercial and Engineering Branches to Enhance Institutional Efficiency…
In line with the state's directives towards digital transformation and the consolidation of governance and transparency principles, the Alexandria Water Company continues its efforts to develop its institutional work system and expand the application of digital solutions. This is in implementation of the directives of Eng. El-Sayed Rayan, Chairman of the Board and Managing Director, emphasizing the need to enhance integration between the company's various sectors and improve the efficiency of internal procedures, which will directly impact the quality of services provided to citizens.
This comes in light of the directives of the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater, headed by Eng. Mustafa El-Shimi, towards expanding the application of the digital transformation system and automating services and procedures, which supports performance efficiency and consolidates the principles of governance, integrity, and transparency.
In this context, the General Administration for Board Affairs, represented by the Integrity Support Department, in cooperation with the Information Technology and Digital Services Sector, represented by the General Administration for Electronic Services, and with the participation of the Commercial Sector and the Production and Distribution Sectors, organized a comprehensive meeting to discuss mechanisms for expanding the application of the updated version of the electronic linkage program between commercial and engineering branches. The meeting was attended by the Vice Chairmen of the Board of Directors, several company leaders, department heads, and other stakeholders. The implementation phases of the system were reviewed, and mechanisms for its expansion were discussed to ensure integration between relevant sectors and branches.
This step follows the initial pilot phase of the system, which has already been implemented in 11 commercial and engineering branches. This paves the way for gradual expansion and the eventual rollout of the system across all company branches, contributing to the transition from traditional procedures to a more efficient, accurate, and effective integrated electronic system.
The electronic linkage aims to streamline the documentation process for cost estimation procedures, reduce processing time, and enhance the efficiency of data and information exchange between relevant sectors and branches. It also minimizes manual processes and human intervention, thereby strengthening internal controls and supporting the application of governance and transparency principles.
Furthermore, the system's implementation will directly impact the level of services provided to customers by expediting procedures, improving service quality, increasing performance efficiency, and reducing the time and effort required to complete services, ultimately contributing to higher levels of customer satisfaction. Engineer Mr. Rayan emphasized that digital transformation is no longer an option, but rather a fundamental pillar for developing institutional work and enhancing performance efficiency. He stressed the importance of continued cooperation and coordination among the company's various sectors, working as a unified team to ensure the success of the electronic connectivity system and its expansion.
He noted that the company is committed to adopting all measures that simplify procedures, achieve the highest levels of accuracy and transparency, and expedite service delivery to citizens. He affirmed that improving the internal work environment directly impacts the quality of service provided to customers.
For his part, Dr. Amir Hijab, Vice Chairman of the Board for Commercial, Financial, and Administrative Affairs, explained that automating the document workflow represents a qualitative leap in work methods, providing speed and accuracy in data exchange and tracking of assessment procedures. This contributes to increased performance efficiency and reduces the time required to complete services.
Engineer Gawaida Ali, Vice Chairman of the Board for Technical Affairs, also emphasized that electronic connectivity represents a significant step towards achieving true integration between the production, distribution, and commercial sectors. This ensures the rapid exchange of information and data and supports decision-making based on precise and clear principles. At the conclusion of the meeting, Engineer/Mr. Rayan stressed the need to provide full support for the implementation phases of the system, and to work to overcome any challenges that may face the application process, stressing that the Alexandria Drinking Water Company is continuing to complete its plan for digital transformation and developing the institutional work system, which will enhance performance efficiency and raise the level of services provided to citizens, and is in line with the objectives of Egypt Vision 2030.
