Yesterday, Engineer Ahmed Jaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director, Engineer Mr. Rayan, Head of the West and Coast Production and Distribution Sector, and Engineer Hanan Taha, Head of the Projects Sector, visited Al-Manshiya 1 station to follow up on the results of operating the Daina Sand Filter pilot unit for drinking water treatment. This experimental unit produces about 500 m3/day of water and is attached to a treatment unit for washing and reusing filters and pipes, which results in reducing water losses to less than 1%.
The experimental unit is characterized by a continuous operating system to produce filtered water without any blockages of the filters and saves on electrical energy consumption in addition to; It does not occupy much space inside the station. Accordingly, Engineer Ahmed Jaber called for the necessity of activating the order at the Alexandria Water Company stations in order to reduce the loss of wasted water during the process of washing filters and pipes.
Engineer Ahmed Jaber continued his visit with an inspection tour of the wards, facilities and laboratory of Al-Mansheya 1 station to follow up on the station’s rehabilitation work to prepare for obtaining the Sustainable Technical Management Certificate.
His Excellency also monitored the working conditions inside the sewing workshop and the car repair workshop inside the station and issued his instructions on the necessity of developing the work mechanisms in the existing workshops through self-efforts to obtain distinguished results on an ongoing basis.
