Engineer Ahmed Gaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Water Company, participated in the water convoy entitled “The Ninth Environmental Progress for the Future of Lake Mariout and the Development of Alexandria” in one of the villages of Abis, which was organized by the University of Alexandria, the Governorate of Alexandria, and the Ministry of Environment in order to meet with the people, listen to their demands, and study the problems they are exposed to. In order to overcome and eliminate them to provide a decent life free of obstacles in marginalized areas.
In accordance with His Excellency’s directives, a working team consisting of the Awareness, Community Participation, Opinion Survey and Marketing departments carried out a fruitful campaign, where feedback was conducted on citizens’ opinions regarding water quality and the level of services to identify the most important problems existing in the region and the extent of their readiness to install the provided parts. A survey was conducted to obtain the opinion of more From (50) individuals, the results were extracted and analyzed and final reports were submitted to Engineer Ahmed Jaber to issue his directions to do the necessary work in order to remove the causes of complaints.
The work team of the Community Participation Department, in cooperation with the Future Protectors Association, succeeded in delivering water to more than (30) homes for deprived families in the village. The Marketing Department also installed water-saving parts in more than (25) homes and two mosques, in addition to the role of the Awareness Department in educating the people about the necessity of rationalizing water. Water consumption and holding plumbing workshops and seminars on “washing carpets without wasting large amounts of water and seminars on water and public health for village women.”
