The efforts of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company vary in providing contributions and coordinating initiatives with a community approach in order to help raise the standard of living and combat and eliminate ways of deprivation and marginalization in many areas of Alexandria society. The work team managed community participation, in accordance with the recommendations of Engineer Ahmed Gaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors, to implement the joint cooperation protocol with members of the Rotary Club in East Alexandria to complete a project to install home water connections for (15) families in the Khorshid Bahariya area, by contributing to the payment of the financial value. These connections will ease the burden on families who are unable to do so in that area. Mr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director General of Awareness and Community Participation, indicated that: The company is communicating with NGOs and charitable organizations to overcome the obstacles facing families most in need of drinking water delivery and unable to pay the cost of the connection, and the administration will continue to raise performance rates until we advance our Alexandrian society through... Striving to provide better service to all groups.
Both Dr. Amani Saqr and Najwa Shawkat, members of the Rotary Club of East Alexandria, confirmed that societal responsibility requires us to join hands so that no citizen who complains of his inability to get a drink of water for any reason is left behind, as water is a national resource that must be available to every Alexandrian.
