Mr. Eng. Ahmed Jaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director, met with the heads of the projects, commercial, production and distribution sectors in the southern region.
In the Amriya branch, to develop mechanisms to link the production of the Kilo 40 station with the sales releases of the Amriya branch, with the aim of discovering the amount of wasted water by measuring and controlling the rates of loss and leakage.

His Excellency stated that: “The Alexandria Water Company, as a state institution, is following the path of the senior political leadership by committing to protect Alexandria’s rights to the waters of the Nile River by seeking to reduce the amounts of wasted water on the one hand, and recovering the state’s dues by controlling the collection of sold water debts on the other hand.” "Other."

He added, "The reason for holding the meeting is to solve our problems in determining the difference between produced and sold water, in addition to determining the reasons for the presence of wasted amounts of water and how to eliminate them in the Amriya region."

For his part, Engineer Jwaida Ali Suleiman presented
The head of the Southern Region Production and Distribution Sector issued a statement detailing the total daily production of drinking water from the southern stations (Kilometer 40 - Al-Zohour Station - Mariout 1), which is estimated at about one million cubic meters / day, explaining that it serves all subscribers in the branches (Mariout - New Noubaria - Amriya - Burj Al Arab).
He showed on the map that there are 6 water lines feeding the areas of Banjar, King, and Mariout. They are: the Libyan line, the Yasser Zaghloul line, the Abdul Qader feeding line with a diameter of 700 mm, the petrochemical line with a diameter of 1000 mm, the feeding line for the village of Abu Masoud with a diameter of 500 mm, and the free zone feeding line coming out of the kilometer 40 station. The diameter is 1000 mm, so the total water coming out of the networks to feed Amriya daily becomes about 400,000 m3/day.

Dr. Ahmed Abdel Halim, head of the commercial sector, continued that the total water sold was calculated after issuing the 7 sets for the Amriya branch, taking into account determining the physical and commercial losses in the networks.

For her part, Engineer Hanan Taha, Head of the Projects Sector, presented a model of the results of measuring losses in the network
In (4) villages belonging to the Amriya region. The Director General of Hydraulic Analysis proposed installing electromagnetic meters to measure the water supply to the areas of Mariout, Al-King, and Al-Banjar to accurately determine the causes, areas, and quantities of leakage.

Accordingly, the meeting resulted in the adoption of the formation of a five-member committee from the departments of control, follow-up, revenue, stealth, production, distribution, and hydraulic analysis, to count the amount of wasted water from the feeding point to the exit point, and to calculate the value of the water sold and collect it. The focus in the first stage is on the areas of Mariout, Banjar, and King.

The recommendations included implementing the instructions of Engineer Ahmed Jaber on the necessity of defining the administrative boundaries of the Amriya branch and enumerating the areas outside the framework of those limits in order to increase the amount of water sold in the Amriya branch and clarifying the correct amount of water consumed to adjust the accounts and determine the amount of loss, which is supposed to not exceed 20%. of sales; In addition to the necessity of coding and identifying groups.
"Jaber" moved on to the importance of inventorying and sorting the places that have residential and industrial establishments and large subscribers to determine the locations of thefts from the network, in addition to completely replacing and renewing the broken meters in Amriya while providing the installment feature to facilitate the payment value for the people, in addition to diverting the stolen building water that was collected for meters. To determine the actual amount of loss.

He pointed out that: “Negligence in this matter is considered participation in the occurrence and continuation of the error, and he stressed the need to provide him with a detailed report on the committee’s results on a periodic basis, while assigning them to take care of the Code (9) file and secrets.

Then, after the meeting, His Excellency continued with a field visit to the branches of Al-Ameriyah, Mariout, Rawaa’at Al-Nasiriyah, and Kilometers 58 and 59 to inspect the conditions of work and workers.
He also made an inspection tour to begin the rehabilitation work of the Kilometer 40 station to renew the Technical Sustainable Management (TSM) certificate. In addition to rehabilitating the civil and electromechanical facilities in the second and third stages inside the station.
He also inspected the work of implementing a 500 mm diameter line beyond the top of the Hawais area at kilometer (100), where engineer Jwaida Ali stated that the goal of implementing this line is to raise pressures at the edges of the network, and 1 km long pipes were laid with the help of the company’s self-operation team to feed (52) villages. From the Al-Nahda villages in the Al-Ameriyah district, the first with approximately (50,000 m3/day), in order to serve (300,000 people) and (1,000) farms for poultry and animals.

The field visits ended at the Margham crane, where the head of the projects sector reported that the construction of the diesel shed and the supply of the generator to support the crane’s operation in the event of a power outage had been completed. In addition to rehabilitating the pump house, completing the implementation of tanks, and modifying the path of pipes and electricity cable ducts, work is currently underway to establish the general site by making a base layer for the lift land, compacting it, and pouring a bond layer before implementing the asphalt.
