Under the auspices of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater and the German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ, a workshop was held from February 24 to 27, 2020, on “Reviewing the risk analysis of commercial sector operations and auditing the relevant executive plans.”
Based on the directives of Mr. Eng. Ahmed Jaber, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Managing Director, the workshop was attended by the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, Ms. Yusr Salah, General Manager of Board Affairs, Ms. Sahar Essam, Director of the Integrity Support Department, and the Integrity Support Team, Mr. Ahmed El-Shenawy. And Mr. Mahmoud El-Hafnawy, and from the commercial sector, Mr. Ahmed Helmy, Director of the Prepaid Meters Department (West and South), and Mr. Ahmed Atwa, Technical Analysis Unit, Office of the Head of the Commercial Sector, and Mr. Mustafa Abdel Jalil, Head of Subscriptions at the Sidi Bishr Branch, as well as Mr. Mohamed. Mr. and Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim from Alexandria Networks.
Over the course of four days, the workshop reviewed the risk analysis of commercial sector operations and audited the relevant implementation plans for each of the following operations: installation of meters (sub-general, public), installation of prepaid meters, assessments, collections, contracts and subscriptions, and review of revenues.
The workshop also focused on identifying risks and developing more robust integrity-supporting procedures by dividing the participants into work groups to discuss these processes to exchange experiences and come up with advanced procedures in preparation for unifying integrity-supporting procedures for all commercial sector operations in conjunction with the issuance of the unified work procedures guide for the commercial sector, which will be issued soon. .
The directors of integrity support departments, integrity support specialists, and some stakeholders from the commercial sectors of the drinking water and sanitation companies participating in the workshop participated in the workshop: Sohag, Minya, Red Sea, and Assiut.
This came in the presence of Dr. Maha Khallaf, Director of the Drinking Water and Wastewater Management Program (WWMP) at the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), Engineer Rasha Zakaria, Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant for the Drinking Water and Wastewater Management Project, Dr. Yousry Mustafa, Consultant at GIZ, and Dr. Sherif El-Garhy, Commercial and Financial Consultant. In the drinking water and sanitation management project, Mr. Ahmed Gamal is Acting Director of the Integrity Support Department of the Holding Company.
It is worth noting that the Integrity Support Program is one of the projects of the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ) implemented in Egypt
