Based on the directives of Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation, on the necessity of taking the necessary precautions to protect workers from the Corona virus; Engineer Ahmed Gaber Shehata, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Water Company, held an urgent meeting to discuss mechanisms for how to prevent the Corona virus..
His Excellency decided to stop all activities planned for the coming period, which require the presence of human gatherings, travel, and transportation, such as World Water Day, the Occupational Safety and Health Competition, workshops, and external training courses, to regulate the cycle of the spread of the virus.

He stressed the necessity of providing the necessary disinfectants for workers and ensuring that surfaces and bathrooms are clean on a regular basis. In addition to the warning, publications will be distributed in all branches and stations of the company, including all necessary preventive instructions.

He also issued instructions to the General Security Department to prevent any gathering on the roads for no reason other than work to contribute to ensuring the health of workers during official working hours.

Dr. Maha Dowidar, Head of the Laboratories and Research Sector, suggested using spray cylinders for sterilization and providing them in places where there are large gatherings of workers.

I also recommend that Sherif Nawar, Head of the Financial Sector, intensify the number of service assistants to clean, disinfect and sterilize bathrooms on a regular basis and direct workers to adhere to the cleanliness of bathrooms after use.

Yusr Salah Al-Din, Director General of Board Affairs, added that it is necessary to distribute roles in a thoughtful manner among the individuals charged with following up on the situation and providing senior management with the necessary reports as soon as any developments occur.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Board of Directors decided that it is necessary to implement all the recommendations and proposals presented during the meeting in order to preserve the occupational health and safety of workers.
