The Holding Company for Water and Wastewater approves the consolidated and non-consolidated financial statements and final accounts of the holding company and its subsidiaries.
Al-Jazzar praises the tangible effort and outstanding performance of the holding company and its subsidiaries, especially in dealing with bad weather conditions and heavy rains.
The General Assembly of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, in its meeting chaired by Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities, agreed to adopt the unconsolidated financial statements and final accounts of the Holding Company, for the financial year ending on 6/30/2019, and to approve the financial statements and final accounts. The combined meeting of the holding company and its subsidiaries for the fiscal year ending on 6/30/2019, where the meeting was held using video conference technology, within the framework of the preventive and precautionary measures followed to confront the spread of the new Corona virus.
Dr. Assem Al-Gazzar praised the tangible and clear effort made by the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, and its subsidiaries, and their outstanding performance, especially in dealing with the bad weather conditions and heavy rainfall that Egypt has witnessed recently, explaining that various proposals to benefit from rainwater are currently being studied. And exploit it.
During the meeting, Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, reviewed the most prominent efforts of the Holding Company and its subsidiaries in providing a clean cup of water for citizens and the safe disposal of sewage, explaining that 1,623 projects for drinking water and sewage were received, implemented by the Authority. The National Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater, and the Executive Authority for Drinking Water and Wastewater, during the period from 7/1/2014 to 9/30/2019. The production capacity of drinking water at the republic level is approximately 29.8 million m3/day, and the total actual capacity for sewage treatment 12.1 million m3/day.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater explained that the total number of drinking water samples submitted during the year 2019 was more than 3.6 million samples, to ensure that the produced water conforms to the highest quality standards. These samples are tested in the reference laboratory of the Holding Company and the central laboratories of the subsidiary companies. And water station laboratories, in addition to mobile laboratories and sample collection vehicles, noting that there are 200 stations and 12 networks that have a TSM certificate, as of December 2019, and represent 46% of the total drinking water produced, and 25% of the total treated wastewater.
Engineer Mamdouh Raslan confirmed that the company is making a great effort to reduce losses and confront hidden connections, through expanding leak detection programs and reducing DMA losses, purchasing new meters and replacing idle meters, installing prepaid meters, allowing code meters, and expanding committees. Stealth and increase in number, replacement and renewal within the limits of available financial capabilities, in addition to producing advertising materials to educate citizens about rationalizing water consumption.
