Engineer Ahmed Gaber, President of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, stressed the importance of scientific research in developing the company’s performance and the services it provides to citizens, within the framework of the directives of the Ministry of Housing and Utilities and the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater.
He pointed out the completion of a series of visits under the initiative program to activate the role of scientific communication and technology transfer at the Drinking Water Company with institutions concerned with scientific research in the field of water in Egypt.
Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din, Director General of Research and Development at the Drinking Water Company in Alexandria, said that the General Administration of Research and Development organized a visit to the Groundwater Research Institute and held a meeting with Dr. Ahmed Rashid, Director of the Center, and a group of engineers supervising groundwater research and the construction of wells in various governorates.
She indicated that the meeting discussed a number of important points on how to benefit from groundwater as an alternative source of drinking water, standards and methods for studying and getting rid of salinity, choosing a suitable place to establish groundwater stations, and other issues related to the issue of groundwater wells. It was agreed to prepare proposals for multi-purpose protocols for a new scientific partnership. It is distinguished by the cooperation between the institute and the company and achieving the greatest benefit from specialists in this field.
In a related context, Engineer Ahmed Jaber affirmed the company’s support for leaders and their encouragement of innovation, noting that Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din, General Director of Research and Development at the Drinking Water Company in Alexandria, achieved a global achievement by winning the gold medal during the Toronto International Competition for Innovations and Advanced Skills, the fifth annual edition, in the field of nature.
