Alexandria Drinking Water Company and civil society support
Based on the belief of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company in the role of civil society in supporting state agencies in implementing sustainable development plans in the areas most in need, and out of the keenness of Mr. Eng. Ahmed Gaber Shehata (Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company and Managing Director) to support the role of community participation in attracting civil society To provide drinking water services to all segments of society, especially the areas most in need in Alexandria Governorate.
His Excellency witnessed a model of joint cooperation between the Alexandria Drinking Water Company and:
- Future Protectors Association, registered under No. 1727 of 2004.
- Al-Thamarat Charitable Society, registered under No. 1534 of 2003.
- Upper Hand Charitable Association for Development, registered No. 2624 of 2011.
The three associations paid the cost of extending a water line to the second village of Abis, and the project serves more than 100 families in the village with a pipe length of 1,200 metres.
This cooperation between the Alexandria Drinking Water Company and the three associations is a model of fruitful cooperation to achieve long-term sustainable development with the aim of developing the community with drinking water services.
