The head of Alexandria Water is following up on the repair work of the water line on the desert road.
Engineer Ahmed Gaber, head of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, inspected the repair work of a drinking water line with a diameter of 1000 mm in kilometer 25 of Cairo Desert Road.
The head of Alexandria Water directed that the repair work be quickly completed, and that they work around the clock to restore water pumping to the affected areas.
He said that there was a sudden break in the line feeding the Margham residences, the industrial zone, and the receding areas between kilometer 19 and kilometer 21, which caused the weakness and interruption of water in those areas.
He pointed out that repair operations were immediately intensified and equipment and technicians were deployed, and the repair is expected to be completed within hours.
He added that the company provided water trucks to the affected areas, and they can be requested by calling the hotline 125 from the landline.
In a related context, Jaber praised the workers’ efforts and dedication to work, during the intense heat and during the fasting period, to meet the needs of citizens and reduce the repair period.
