Alexandria Water campaign to remove encroachments on the drinking water line
Engineer Ahmed Gaber, head of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, assigned the committee formed by the company’s engineering department and the management of the commercial branch in Burj Al Arab, to inspect the infringements and violations of the drinking water network in the North Coast region, specifically at kilometer 57 before the road.
He said that a number of (15) 2-inch diameter connections were seized through which acres of agricultural land planted with fig trees were fed in violation, and all of these violations were completely lifted, and all legal measures are currently being taken in accordance with the regulations and laws.
He explained that such encroachments on water lines negatively affect the water pressure in the network, the lack of water reaching citizens to a sufficient extent, and the weak amount of water coming into the bathroom water lifter of the Matrouh Water Company.
He pointed out that the amount of water discharged per hour from the line (2 inches) is equivalent to 35 cubic meters, meaning that the total of the connections that were removed was wasting 525 cubic meters per hour, which affects the amount of water that reaches Matrouh Governorate and subscribers to the North Coast Road and the tourist villages, adding that it is ongoing. Currently, ongoing campaigns are being carried out in the entire region to eliminate all encroachments on the water network
