Alexandria Water: Contract for “Hand Held” devices
Engineer Ahmed Gaber, President of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, signed a contract with Daman Payments Company. To provide “hand held” devices for collection and readings, which require the reader and collector to be present in front of the water meter to record the correct reading, which helps ensure that the citizen is held accountable for the actual consumption.
He said: One of the goals of using the “Hand Held” device is the immediate collection of invoices, allowing the printing of the invoice to the customer, and partial payment of the invoice. This system works on the network, whether online or offline, which ensures the continuity of work in all locations.
Jaber added that the Alexandria Water Company activated the “My Reading” application, which was launched by the Holding Company in July 2020, which allows citizens to report readings from the 1st to the 15th of each month, after photographing the meter, so that the citizen will be able to track his consumption.
This is in line with the state’s plan and the directives of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, towards quickly completing digital transformation and electronic payment procedures.
