Dr. Ahmed Moawad, Vice President of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, witnessed part of the activities of the training course organized by the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, under the title “Preparing and qualifying specialized cadres in the field of new renewable energy,” with the participation of the companies of Beheira, Minya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Alexandria Water, Sinai, and Alexandria Drainage.
Dr. Ahmed Moawad stressed the importance of maximizing the use of renewable energies as alternative sources of energy generation to cover a percentage of electrical energy consumption at sites and stations, in coordination with electricity companies.
He pointed out the use of solar panels to convert solar energy into electrical energy, which was implemented in some locations in the Alexandria Water Company, Alexandria Drainage Company, Minya, Kafr El-Sheikh, Luxor, and Menoufia, in addition to generating energy from sludge produced from sewage plants.
This came in the presence of Engineer Mohamed Al-Shafi’i, Head of the Operations and Maintenance Sector at the Holding Company, via video conference technology, and in coordination with Eng. Mohamed Abu Deif, Director of the Energy Department, Engineer Tamer Rifqi in the Energy Department of the Holding Company, and Engineer Nesma Mohamed Sobhi, Director of the Energy Department at the Minya Water Company.
Engineer Ali Al-Banna, from the Energy Department of the Holding Company and the lecturer in the training course, said that a series of training courses were held, which were implemented by the Energy and Training Departments of the Holding Company, making this the third course held in Alexandria to explain and clarify how to prepare technical specifications and calculate the energy produced according to the available space, and choose The appropriate place to establish and establish a solar energy station.
He added that the goal is to qualify technical cadres specialized in the field of energy and practical training by organizing field visits to a number of existing stations, including the B9N solar energy station at the Alexandria Drainage Company.
This comes within the framework of the directives of Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, on the importance of raising and building capabilities and training in modern specialized fields to meet the training needs of workers in affiliated companies, activate maximum benefit, and transfer scientific and practical expertise to workers in companies.
