The first coordination meeting of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company with civil society associations

The Alexandria Drinking Water Company, headed by Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Board of Directors, organized the first coordination forum for civil society associations, during which (11) associations participated, contributing to the delivery of home connections for drinking water to more than 350 thousand beneficiaries, with a total of 13 thousand homes, at a cost of 33 million and 650. One thousand pounds, of which the Alexandria Water Company bears 60%, while civil society bears only 40%.

This came in the presence of Major General Mahmoud Nafi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sanitation Company in Alexandria, Dr. Magda Galala, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Alexandria, Dr. Farag Mohsen Ghanem, Director of the Guidance Department at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Dr. Marwa El-Derini, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Future Protectors Association, and a large number of heads of the boards of directors of institutions. Civil society associations in Alexandria, and community participation officials for the companies AMOC and Sidpec.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber signed an addendum to the cooperation protocol with the Future Protectors Association, within the scope of the revolving loan for cases that do not meet the conditions of community participation management in the Alexandria Water Company, where the association is committed to paying the full cost of the connection, and pays installments to the citizen, and the Future Protectors Association has also paid the cost. Extending water line pipes in the Khorshid Marine area, which serves more than 50 families in the area.

For his part, Major General Mahmoud Nafie, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sanitation Company in Alexandria, stressed the necessity of cooperating with sanitation companies in contributing to delivering sanitation connections to the homes of vulnerable families, as it has become a necessity to maintain the state’s efforts to extend sanitation networks to the most needy villages.

Dr. Marwa El-Derini reviewed the efforts and full support that the state gives her and the support provided by the Alexandria Water Company in cooperation with civil society, and that the supporting companies are all Egyptian companies and they are all competing to serve citizens and deliver water to the areas and families most in need.
