For his part, Engineer Ahmed Gaber, President of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, stated that the General Quality Management Team at the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater inspected the Mariout 1 water station on 10/13/2022, which has a production capacity of 540 thousand m3/day, to ensure implementation rates. Corrective measures issued by the water safety and security plan.

He explained that the renewal of the water safety and security plan for the Mariout 1 water station of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company was reviewed, the percentages of corrective measures implemented, the first version of the plan updated, and new corrective procedures for the second version were developed in preparation for the plan to be approved again by the Supreme Water Committee. He explained that during the committee’s work, a visit was made to Some corrective action locations in the plan to indicate the extent of the effective application.

He pointed to the cooperation of all the company's sectors: “production and distribution, projects, laboratories, awareness and the hotline,” noting that among the corrective measures taken were implemented in several stages at a cost of approximately 59 million pounds, in addition to the Decent Life Program projects.

It is worth noting that the water safety plan accreditation certificate is one of the highest accreditations granted to water service providers, as it is issued through the approval of three different bodies: the Ministry of Health, the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water and Consumer Protection, and the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organization.
