Workshop on water safety plans and safety for the supply systems of the Mansheya (2) and Nozha stations.

In the presence of Engineer Ahmed Gaber, President of the Alexandria Water Company, the Water Safety and Security Department of the Laboratories and Research Sector of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company organized a workshop on drinking water safety and security plans for the supply systems of the Mansheya (2) and Nozha water stations, in the meeting hall of the Mansheya (2) station, In the presence of representatives of the technical support teams of the General Department of Quality of the Holding Company, work teams from the Ministry of Health, the departments concerned with water, the Environmental Affairs Agency and the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber stressed the company’s keenness to participate in the organizing workshops, which are held under the auspices of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater.

This comes as an enhancement to the strategy for predicting risks related to water safety, and a strong impetus for the water quality system in order to achieve maximum benefit from the optimal operation of water plants and enhance cooperation with all ministries concerned with water.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber also confirmed that the workshop was organized in coordination with the ministries and concerned authorities, represented by the Ministry of Health, Environment, Water Resources, Irrigation, Nile Protection, the Governorate Environmental Affairs Agency, the Ministry of Interior, represented by the Water Bodies Police, and the departments concerned with the Alexandria Water Company.

Dr. Lamia Mustafa, Head of the Laboratories and Research Sector, added that the workshop discussed the executive steps, corrective measures, and the time periods required to implement these procedures to ensure the quality of drinking water in accordance with the health standards contained in Ministry of Health Resolution No. 458 of 2007 regarding water quality, as well as continuous monitoring of water quality in all stages of production from outlet down to the consumer.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami, Director of the Water Safety and Security Department, also reviewed the achievements of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company in the field of water safety and security, including the adoption of three supply systems by the Supreme Water Committee, as well as the presence of three supply systems in the review phase of the regulatory body for drinking water, sanitation, and consumer protection during the year 2022 only.

Then, the station and laboratory work team reviewed each of the supply systems for the Al-Mansheya (2) and Al-Nuzha stations and what was accomplished during the preparation of the plan and the implementation of corrective measures with the participation of all sectors of the company.
