Alexandria Water participates in the Zayed Charity Marathon.

Engineer Ahmed Jaber and a number of the company’s leaders participated in the Zayed Charity Marathon in its seventh edition at Alexandria Stadium, which is a major sporting event and a humanitarian event that reflects the value of charitable work and community contribution between the Egyptian and Emirati sides.

The starting whistle was blown from Alexandria Stadium, passing through Al-Batalasa Street, and from there to the sea, to the Sidi Gaber area, and from there to Abu Qir Street, then back to the starting point in the stadium.

The number of participants in the marathon reached 30,000, and the race included a 2-kilometre race for people of determination, children under 10 years old, and the elderly over 60 years old, in addition to the main race, which is a 10-kilometre race for men and women.

The value of the prizes is 5 million pounds distributed among the first 5,000 contestants, in addition to 60 Umrah trips.

The activities included artistic performances and Nubian artistic performances, which gave the competition a beautiful carnival and celebratory atmosphere indicating the nature of the good and inherited relations between the Egyptian and Emirati peoples.

It is worth noting that this marathon is held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, every year to support charitable and humanitarian projects. The proceeds of this marathon may go to the Ahl Misr Hospital for the treatment of burns and accidents, which is supervised by Dr. Heba Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Ahl Foundation.
