The attendees discussed the implementation of the recommendations of the previous session of the Civil Society Committee meeting regarding the School of Drinking Water and Sanitation in Alexandria, and how to overcome obstacles to the success of the technical education experience.
Engineer Ahmed Gaber also reviewed the presidential projects being held in Alexandria Governorate in which the Alexandria Drinking Water Company participates. The state’s efforts were also reviewed in upgrading the villages most in need through the presidential initiative “Decent Life” and providing all services in these villages through the establishment of water and sanitation networks and the construction and renovation. Schools, raising the efficiency of health units, establishing and renovating youth centers and post offices, and implementing small projects for the neediest families in these villages.
Dr. Amira Tahiyou, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Alexandria, explained the extent of cooperation between the drinking water and sanitation companies and the coordination that takes place between the company and the Health Directorate to support hospitals in difficult times. Her Excellency also praised the efforts made by the water and sanitation companies in Alexandria to serve the citizens of Alexandria Governorate. Her Excellency reviewed the efforts of the Ministry of Health under the presidential initiative Decent Life and the work of health convoys in these villages.
The attendees discussed how to cooperate between all state institutions and civil society institutions to further support the presidential initiative A Decent Life in order to serve our people in the areas most in need.
