The head of the “Water Holding Company” witnesses the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Alexandria Water Company and the Specific Federation of Rotary Clubs..
Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, President of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, witnessed the signing ceremony of 14 joint cooperation protocols in the areas of community participation to support the “Water for Life” initiative for 8 companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater, represented by the heads of the Holding Company for Potable Water and Wastewater. Water companies, representatives of the Specific Federation of Rotary Clubs, and the Water Committee in the Rotary District, represented by Mrs. Ola Hussein Al-Nouri, Chairman of the Community Service Committee in the Rotary District.
The signing of the protocol comes within the framework of the state’s interest in providing a decent life for citizens, delivering water to the most vulnerable families in the villages of Alexandria Governorate, raising environmental and health awareness of the target groups, supporting integrated development, and developing and modernizing the most needy villages in the targeted governorates.
This came in the presence of Mr. Ayman Nazih, Governor of Rotary District 2451, who expressed his happiness in cooperating with the holding company and its subsidiaries in delivering water connections to citizens in the villages most in need, indicating that Rotary is a system that has been in existence for 118 years and works on all axes to serve the community and encourage high moral standards in society. Life and promoting goodwill among people so that drinking water service is one of the most important services that it is happy to provide.
Engineer Mamdouh Raslan confirmed that within the framework of the company’s mission to provide drinking water to citizens and improve the services provided to them, and based on its keenness to participate in the areas of community development, it was agreed on joint cooperation in order to provide a decent life and a better standard of living for the targeted families, within areas of cooperation that include: Supporting drinking water delivery services for poor families, in addition to enhancing community participation to adopt drinking water issues.
He added that the political leadership pays great attention to the drinking water and sanitation sector, as the recent period has witnessed an unprecedented development in the rates and percentages of sanitation service coverage in the villages of Upper Egypt, making the presidential initiative Decent Life one of the most important national and humanitarian initiatives that serve citizens throughout the Arab Republic of Egypt and provide a decent life and development. Sustainable for the people of Upper Egypt villages, and providing unconventional methods to deliver drinking water and sanitation services to villages and hamlets.
Engineer Ahmed Gaber confirmed that this protocol enhances fruitful cooperation between the Rotary Clubs and the Alexandria Water Company in order to serve the areas and families most in need located within the scope of Alexandria Governorate, and commitment to the process of counting these families in accordance with the standards specified by the holding company, which is implemented through a specialized administration that Conduct field research for these families.
The Rotary Clubs contributed an amount of 532,500 pounds to deliver water to the most needy families in the villages of Abis and Amriya.
Professor Ola Nouri, Head of the Community Service Committee in the Rotary District, said that Rotary has a societal role and social responsibility, and we are always happy to partner with the holding company in implementing drinking water connections to serve citizens, given that water is life and is consistent with the goals of the Presidential Initiative for a Decent Life.
