Alexandria Water receives a certificate of approval for the water safety and security plan for the Mariout (1) supply system from the Supreme Water Committee..

Engineer Ahmed Gaber, President of the Alexandria Water Company, received at the meeting room headquarters of the main center a certificate of the water safety and security plan for the Mariout supply system (1) - the second version, approved by the Supreme Water Committee on 9/21/2023.

And signed by His Excellency the Minister of Health and Population, through the General Administration of Water and Sanitation Safety and Security of the Holding Company.

In the presence of: Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Rahman Saad, General Director of Water and Sanitation Safety and Security at the Holding Company, Dr. Alaa Farid, Director of the Water and Sanitation Safety and Security Department at the Holding Company, the heads of the company’s sectors, the Mariout Supply System (1) work team, and the General Administration for Water Safety and Security.

The handover ceremony began with a speech by Eng. Ahmed Gaber, during which he praised the volume of work undertaken by the Alexandria Water Company in the field of water safety and security in light of the quantities of water produced, which serves a large number of residents of Alexandria Governorate. He also praised the volume of cooperation between all sectors involved in preparing Water safety and security plans, as well as the distinguished role of the General Administration for Water Safety and Security team.

His Excellency also stressed the company's keenness to activate and implement a water safety and security methodology to preserve public health as one of the most important elements of improving water quality and services provided to the masses of consumers.

Mrs. Dr. Lamia Mustafa, head of the company’s laboratories sector, added that water safety and security plans are the most effective guarantee for reducing health and environmental risks related to water, and their implementation reflects positively on all performance indicators. She also thanked all the work teams, including heads of sectors, general managers, departments, and executives from the teams. The work, especially the Mariout Supply System (1) team, led by Engineer Jwaida Ali Suleiman, Head of the Production and Distribution Sector in the Southern Region.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Shami, Director General of Water Safety and Security, confirmed that the past period witnessed an achievement with the adoption of (6) plans for water safety and security, and the preparation of a water safety and security plan for the Mariout supply systems (2) is being completed.
