Alexandria Water Company Chairman Participates in the Activities of the Second International Conference on Scientific Research at the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications..

Under the patronage of Dr. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Alexandria Water Company, headed by Eng. Ahmed Gaber, participated in the activities of the Second International Conference "Challenges and Future Prospects for Biotechnology: Linking Scientific Research to Industry" held at the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in New Borg El Arab.

Dr. Mona Mahmoud Abdel Latif, Director of the City, opened the activities of the conference held under the chairmanship of Dr. Abeer Abdel Wahab, Dean of the Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Research Institute, in the presence of heads of research centers, university presidents, vice presidents of research centers, vice presidents of universities, deans of faculties and research institutes, heads of boards of directors of industrial companies, and members of the research and teaching staff at various research centers and universities.

In a discussion session moderated by Prof. Dr. Rania Ali Amer, Professor of Environmental Biotechnology at the Genetic Engineering and Technology Research Institute in the city, entitled "Roadmap for Cooperation: Building Bridges of Scientific Research for Innovation and Growth", Eng. Ahmed Gaber stressed that the challenges and opportunities of scientific research and innovation must be directed in a way that serves the goals and strategy of the industry, and a database for researchers and innovators must be created to use their research and innovations in emerging projects.

He explained that cooperation with scientific and academic circles can be enhanced through cooperation protocols, as a cooperation protocol was renewed with the City of Research and Technological Applications regarding the challenges facing the current drinking water system and alternative water sources.

Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din, General Manager of Research and Development at the Alexandria Water Company, and Mr. Mohamed El-Amin, Digital Innovation Officer at the Administration, also participated with a presentation entitled "Governance and Artificial Intelligence".

Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din addressed the topic of an introduction to governance and artificial intelligence, and that they are two vital topics in the modern era, and each of them represents a complex field in which technology overlaps with regulatory policies and procedures. She also explained the concept of governance and that it is goal number (6) of Egypt's vision for 2030, and the principles and objectives of governance and its relationship to research and development. Professor Mohamed El-Amin also followed up on the concept and objectives of digital transformation, the integration of governance and digital transformation, and the strategies followed for that. It is worth noting that a special exhibition was held on the activities of the Awareness Department, including advertising materials, posters, brochures and gifts that encourage saving water.
