Alexandria Water Company Chairman receives civil society institutions and associations..
Community participation is a fundamental pillar of achieving the development goals of society, and is one of the tools through which society can be advanced and improved, and work to improve the standard of living for its members.
From this standpoint, Alexandria Water Company is keen to cooperate with civil society to achieve sustainable development for the most needy areas and villages, as Eng. Ahmed Jaber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alexandria Water Company, received Eng. Marwa El-Derini, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Water and Sanitation Union and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Future Protectors Association for Care and Development, and Mr. Mohamed Abu El-Khair from the Ommar Al-Ard Foundation, and Dr. Manal Waheeba, a member of the Board of Directors of the Generation of Hope Association for Social Development.
The mechanism for implementing the second phase of extending a water line in Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq village with a length of 1800 meters of pipes with a diameter of 4 and 6 inches was discussed, and the cost of extending the water line for the second phase amounted to 4,970,334 pounds.
Charitable associations and institutions participated in paying part of the second phase of extending the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq water line under the umbrella of the Egyptian Federation for Water and Sanitation, where charitable associations contributed as follows: -
- Ommar Al-Ard Foundation, an amount of 1,000,000 pounds of the project cost.
- Generation of Hope Association for Social Development paid 500,000 pounds of the project cost.
- Future Protectors Association contributed 100,000 pounds.
- Al-Thamrat Charitable Association contributed 100,000 pounds of the cost.
Finally, Masdar Khair Association contributed 75,000 pounds of the project cost.
Engineer Ahmed Jaber had previously received Mr. Islam Korani, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Masdar Khair Association, where ways of cooperation between the Alexandria Drinking Water Company and the Association in the areas of community participation were discussed.
It is worth noting that the first phase of extending a water line in Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq village was implemented through the cooperation of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company with the Egyptian Union for Water and Sanitation represented by both the Future Protectors Association and the Ommar Al-Ard Foundation.
Engineer Ahmed Jaber stated that the Alexandria Drinking Water Company is keen to cooperate with civil society in Alexandria Governorate in order to achieve sustainable development in the most needy areas and in order to serve our people from poor families in these areas, through the Community Participation Department in the company, which is the link between the Drinking Water Company and civil society, and Engineer Ahmed Jaber thanked the charitable associations and institutions for the efforts made and the effective contribution through them to reach the most needy areas and families in Alexandria Governorate.
