A tour by Al-Ahram Gate inside the company's water stations

In light of the increasing concerns about the quality of drinking water in Alexandria and the spread of rumors and confusion on social media sites that raise doubts about its suitability, the question: "Is Alexandria's water really safe?" has become a concern for residents.

To answer this question, "Al-Ahram Gate" toured the drinking water stations and analysis laboratories, where we learned about the stages of water purification and the precise steps it goes through before reaching citizens' homes, in addition to the tests and analyses that are conducted to ensure the quality of water on an ongoing basis.

Eng. Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, confirmed that drinking water in the governorate is completely safe and there are no problems related to its quality, pointing out that the Holding Company for Water, the Ministry of Health and the Water Regulatory Authority all closely follow up on the results of water tests periodically to ensure the safety of the water, saying, “Drinking water is completely safe and is monitored by several parties, including the reference laboratory of the Holding Company and the laboratories of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, which have obtained high international accreditations and certificates, which confirms its neutrality in dealing with the results of tests, which are a national security that cannot be underestimated.
