Eng. Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, witnessed the signing ceremony of a number of cooperation protocols with the Rotary Club within the framework of enhancing community participation efforts, in order to support the "Water for Life" initiative. This cooperation comes within an agreement that included eight companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, namely: (Alexandria, Dakahlia, Beheira, Assiut, Luxor, Sohag, Qalyubia, Fayoum).

The protocol aims to improve the level of services provided to citizens in the most needy villages, by financing and implementing projects to connect home connections to drinking water and drilling coastal wells, in a way that achieves sustainable development and supports the "Decent Life" initiative launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Eng. Ahmed Gaber stressed the importance of the role of civil society in supporting development projects, especially in the field of water supply and sanitation, noting that this cooperation contributes to improving the quality of life and enhancing basic services for the most needy families.

For his part, Eng. Mamdouh Raslan stressed the importance of the private sector and civil society participation in national projects, noting that cooperation between government and community agencies is a key factor in achieving sustainable development goals.

Prof. Sherif Adeeb, Governor of Rotary District 2451, expressed his pride in cooperating with the Holding Company and its subsidiaries in implementing water connections, pointing to the remarkable achievements made by the Rotary District Water Committee over the past years, which were positively reflected in the quality of services provided in several governorates, including Qalyubia, Fayoum, Beheira, Alexandria, Dakahlia, Assiut, Sohag, and Luxor.

Dr. Alaa El-Nouri, Head of the Rotary District Water and Sanitation Committee, explained that cooperation between Rotary Clubs of Egypt and drinking water and sanitation companies extends for more than 15 years, during which many water supply projects were implemented to the most needy villages. She pointed out that the newly signed protocols include implementing 1,000 home connections at a total value of 5 million pounds, stressing the Rotary Club's commitment to its societal role in supporting development initiatives, in line with the goals of the "Decent Life" initiative.
