Alexandria Water Company hosts the practical demonstration competition for students of technical schools for drinking water and sanitation in Lower Egypt…

Within the framework of the state's vision 2030 and the strategy of the Ministry of Education and Technical Education to prepare and qualify technical cadres capable of meeting the needs of the local and international labor market, Alexandria Water Company hosted the activities of the practical demonstration competition for students of technical schools for drinking water and sanitation at the Mansheya Water Station (2), which included four technical schools representing the governorates of Alexandria, Beheira, Menoufia, and Mostorod School affiliated with Cairo Water Company, as part of the general competitions that bring together all schools of companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater.

The competition witnessed the implementation of specialized practical experiments, aiming to hone students' skills in various technical fields, most notably:

• Controlling chlorine gas leakage according to occupational safety standards.

• Disassembling and maintaining a 6-inch centrifugal pump, troubleshooting and reinstalling it.

• Maintaining a 380-volt electric motor and changing its worn bearing.

• Testing water networks and installing G-BOLT to ensure operating efficiency.

• Implementation of welding works of various types (electricity - oxygen - acetylene).

• Experiments in surveying and level measurement works to ensure the accuracy of project implementation.

• Using giraffe cranes to train students on safe loading and lifting operations.

• Using the television car to detect faults in networks without the need for digging.

Alexandria Water Company was also keen to provide all logistical and technical requirements to ensure the success of the competition, as all occupational safety and health requirements were prepared, in addition to mechanical equipment, electrical tools, measuring devices, welding tools and cranes, to ensure a safe and effective training environment for participating students.

At the conclusion of the events, Eng. Ahmed Jaber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alexandria Water Company, expressed his happiness to host this competition, stressing that such events reflect the company's commitment to qualifying young technical cadres, and preparing a new generation capable of keeping pace with technological developments in the drinking water and sanitation sector. He also thanked all participating students and trainers, wishing them more success and progress in their practical lives.
