Dr. Sayed Ismail, Deputy Minister of Housing and Urban Communities, inaugurated the ninth edition of the Water Treatment, Purification, and Desalination Exhibition and Conference, which is being held at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in the Fifth Settlement. The three-day event is the largest event in the Middle East in the fields of infrastructure, water, and wastewater, bringing together major international companies, consulting firms, and leading companies in the fields of water treatment, desalination, and water resources management.
Dr. Sayed Ismail was received by Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Alexandria Water Company, who accompanied him to inspect the mobile crisis management vehicle. This unique addition among its subsidiaries represents a qualitative leap in field crisis management. The vehicle was designed and equipped with the latest hardware and software by the company's Information Technology and Digital Transformation Sector, making it an advanced model for keeping pace with the requirements of digital and technological transformation in the water sector.
His Excellency, accompanied by Engineer Ahmed Gaber, also inspected the e-services vehicle, which enables customers to complete all their transactions without having to visit branches. This saves them time and effort, reflecting the company's commitment to improving and developing its customer service.
Dr. Sayed Ismail praised the company's efforts in digital transformation and preparedness for crisis management, noting the importance of disseminating such successful experiences nationwide.
He also viewed a demonstration presented by Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din, General Manager of Research and Development at the Alexandria Water Company, on the use of green solutions for water treatment. She presented a model that relies on magnetic fields to purify water with high efficiency. The Deputy Minister expressed his admiration for the idea, directing it to be studied and implemented as soon as possible.
In this context, Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Alexandria Water Company, emphasized, "We are proud to participate in the ninth edition of WETRIX, this prominent international event that serves as a strategic platform for knowledge exchange and showcasing the latest technologies in the water sector. Alongside the Deputy Minister, the event was attended by Engineer Amin Shawky, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Authority for Potable Water and Sanitation and Acting Chairman of the Authority; Dr. Mohamed Hassan, CEO of the Drinking Water, Sanitation and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency; a number of leaders from the Utilities Sector at the Ministry of Housing; ambassadors from African countries; and representatives of Egyptian and international companies specializing in this vital field.
