Alexandria Water continues its efforts to drain rainwater pools east of the city...
As part of its intensive preparations to address the effects of weather fluctuations, the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, in cooperation with the Wastewater Company, continues to implement an emergency plan to deal with the rainwater pools that the city has experienced as a result of the severe weather.
Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, directed the highest levels of preparedness and immediate intervention to address the effects of the rain, to preserve the safety of citizens and ensure the continuity of services.
For his part, Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, monitored the work on the ground and ensured the readiness of emergency teams and equipment. He stressed the need for rapid action and full coordination among all relevant authorities to mitigate the negative impacts of the rain on citizens' daily lives.
The company dispatched 99 pieces of equipment, including suction trucks, suits, transportation equipment, and technical crews, which were distributed to the affected areas east of the city, including:
- Sidi Bishr Tunnel
- Khaled Ibn Al-Walid Street
- Salah El-Din Shaaban Street
- Galal Hammad Street
- Mohamed Naguib Street on the sea
- 45th Street
- Mustafa Kamel Street
- Gamal Abdel Nasser Street
In addition, a number of garages and low-lying areas were also deployed.
The Alexandria Drinking Water Company confirms its continued operation around the clock, in coordination with the Alexandria Governorate's Operations Room and all executive authorities, to monitor developments in the weather and intervene immediately in any location where water accumulation is observed.
