Launch of the Pilot Model for the Internal Government Excellence Award for Water Safety and Security at the Alexandria Water Company

As part of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater's commitment to implementing the concepts of institutional excellence and comprehensive quality, and in cooperation with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, the Holding Company is preparing to launch the "Internal Excellence Award for Safety," which aims to enhance the quality and sustainability of drinking water services, in accordance with the best international standards and recommendations of the World Health Organization.

A specialized committee of evaluators accredited by the Ministry of Planning and the Holding Company has begun its work to finalize the award criteria. The official announcement will be made next October, and the nomination process will be open to affiliated companies to implement the model across various water supply systems nationwide.

In this context, the Alexandria Drinking Water Company - the Mansheya (2) Station Supply System - was selected as a pilot model for implementing the award criteria. This model represents an effective model for ensuring water safety and security, from the source to the citizen, through the application of a health risk assessment and management methodology.

In a statement on this occasion, Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman and Managing Director of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, emphasized that the selection of the Mansheya (2) Station as a pilot model reflects the efforts of the company's work teams and confirms our full commitment to implementing the highest standards of water quality and safety.

He added, "We believe that institutional excellence can only be achieved through a work environment based on continuous development, teamwork, and a full commitment to serving citizens. This award represents an important step toward building more efficient and sustainable water supply systems, and we continue to support everything that achieves sustainable development goals in the drinking water sector."

This project is being implemented under the supervision of Dr. Lamia Mustafa, Head of the Laboratories Sector, and with the support of Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Rahman Saad, General Manager of Water Safety and Security at the Holding Company, within an integrated vision that seeks to enhance performance and ensure the provision of safe and reliable water services to all citizens.
