A joint collaboration between the Alexandria Education Directorate and the Alexandria Water Company on the "Their Health, Their Future" initiative to raise environmental and water awareness among students...

Within the framework of the fruitful collaboration between the Alexandria Education Directorate and the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, the Higher Coordination Committee for the "Their Health, Their Future" initiative convened under the patronage and attendance of:

• Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company.

• Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid, Director of the Alexandria Education Directorate.

In the presence of Dr. Mohamed Mustafa, UNICEF Egypt's "Their Health, Their Future" Program Officer, and a number of department directors involved in the initiative.

In his opening remarks, Engineer Ahmed Gaber thanked and appreciated Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid and Dr. Mohamed Mustafa for their efforts over the past period, commending the successes achieved by the initiative and the positive impact it has had on students.

He added, "Investing in our students' awareness is a true investment in Egypt's future. Water and environmental education is no longer a luxury, but a necessity to address climate challenges and preserve our natural resources. Through this initiative, we are working with our education partners and UNICEF to prepare a new generation capable of rationalizing water consumption and protecting the environment, giving our children better opportunities for a more sustainable life."

For his part, Dr. Arabi Abu Zeid praised the achievements of the first phase of the initiative, which included 200 schools with the participation of more than 400 teachers and educators, reaching more than 195,000 students. He also announced the launch of the second phase this year, which will include an additional 250 schools, bringing the total to 450 schools covering all educational directorates in Alexandria Governorate, contributing to spreading water and environmental awareness on a wider scale.
