The Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water honors Alexandria Water Company for obtaining the accreditation shield for all stations and achieving Level 1 in water safety and security...
Engineer Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, honored the Alexandria Water Company, headed by Engineer Ahmed Gaber, Chairman and Managing Director. The honoring was in recognition of its efforts in completing the accreditation of all its drinking water stations and achieving Level 1 in the assessment of the safety and security of drinking water and wastewater for the fiscal year 2024/2025, according to the Holding Company's report.
The honoring ceremony was attended by Dr. Salah Bayoumi, Major General Asem Shukr, and Dr. Abu Al-Abbas Issa Galal, Vice Chairman of the Holding Company. The Alexandria Water Company received the Excellence Shield and two certificates of accreditation for the second edition of the water supply systems for the Mansheya (2) and Maamoura stations.
Engineer Ahmed Gaber emphasized that this achievement comes in implementation of the directives of the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and with the ongoing support of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, with the aim of improving the quality of services provided to citizens. He pointed out that implementing a drinking water safety and security methodology ensures adherence to all quality standards and the adoption of preventive measures to ensure water quality monitoring throughout all stages of purification, from the source to the consumer.
Engineer Ahmed Gaber extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to the General Administration of Safety and Security at the Holding Company, led by Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Rahman, and to the participating teams from the Ministry of Health, the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water, Wastewater, and Consumer Protection, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, and the Alexandria Governorate. He emphasized that the integration between these entities is the foundation for the success of the water safety and security system.
Engineer Ahmed Gaber also extended his sincere thanks and appreciation to all the company's sectors for their dedicated efforts and fruitful cooperation in achieving this accomplishment, including Dr. Lamia Mustafa, Head of the Laboratories Sector, Dr. Ahmed El Shamy, General Manager of Water Safety, Engineer Jawida Ali Suleiman, Southern Region Sector, Engineer Gaddafi Ibrahim, Head of the Alexandria Production and Distribution Sector, Engineer Walid Khedr, Head of the West Alexandria Production and Distribution Sector, Dr. Amir Hegab, Head of the Commercial Sector, Engineer Mustafa El Sayed, Head of the Information Technology Sector, Engineer Hanan Taha, Engineer Mohamed El Hefnawy, Head of the Projects Sector, Engineer Janet Malak, General Manager of Projects, Mr. Ahmed Mustafa, Head of the Financial Sector, Mr. Yasser Saber, Mr. Mohamed Hamza, Head of the Human Resources Sector, Engineer Sayed Ryan, Technical Advisor and supporter of the sectors, and all the company's employees. For her part, Dr. Lamia Mustafa, Head of the Laboratories Sector, explained that the drinking water safety and security methodology is based on assessing and managing potential risks and taking the necessary corrective measures to neutralize them. She emphasized that its implementation is carried out in close cooperation between the company's various sectors, including: Planning and Projects, Production and Distribution, Finance, Human Resources, and the General Administration of Board Affairs, led by Ms. Yusr Salah; Public Relations, led by Mr. Maged Abbas; Dr. Abdullah Tayel, Director of Awareness; Mr. Islam Morsi, General Manager of the Hotline; and Dr. Essam Abdel Majeed, General Manager of the Technical Office. The goal is to ensure water quality and preserve the public health of citizens.
Dr. Ahmed El-Shamy, General Manager of Water Safety and Security, also indicated that the ten supply systems of the Alexandria Water Company have already obtained the Water Safety and Security Certificate, explaining that the company seeks to achieve sustainability in implementing the methodology to provide distinguished and safe services to Alexandrian citizens.
The Water Safety and Security Certificate is one of the highest accreditation certificates granted to water production plants in Egypt, as it is documented by three official bodies: the Ministry of Health, the Regulatory Authority for Drinking Water, Wastewater and Consumer Protection, and the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater.
