As part of the Alexandria Water Company's plans to support technical education and enhance the capabilities of students in specialized schools, Engineer Gaddafi Ibrahim, Chairman and Managing Director, conducted a field visit to the Alexandria Technical Secondary School for Drinking Water and Wastewater. He was received by the school's administration and staff, in the presence of Engineer Gawida Ali, Head of the Southern Region Production and Distribution Sector and a member of the school's board of directors, and Engineer Sayed Rayan, the company's technical advisor.
During his tour, he inspected the classrooms and reviewed the educational process and training activities within the various departments. He also distributed tablets to first-year students, as part of the company's support for digital transformation efforts and the provision of modern educational technologies that contribute to raising students' skills and empowering them with advanced learning tools.
Engineer Gaddafi also reviewed a number of student innovations in fields related to the drinking water and wastewater sectors, including:
An innovation in the field of cybersecurity.
A device for protection against chlorine leaks.
A device for detecting the presence of oils and grease at water intakes.
A project to generate energy from emissions and reduce the carbon footprint.
His Excellency praised the students' projects, emphasizing that they reflect a distinguished level of technical qualification and the ability to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical applications, thus contributing to the graduation of qualified personnel capable of meeting future challenges in the water sector.
It is worth noting that the school comprises 10 classrooms distributed as follows: 3 classrooms for the first grade, 3 for the second grade, and 4 for the third grade, in addition to four specialized departments:
Laboratories Department.
Station Operation and Maintenance Department.
Network Operation and Maintenance Department.
Desalination Department.
The school accepts students with a minimum score of 260 on the preparatory certificate and welcomes students from several governorates, including Alexandria, the Red Sea, North Sinai, South Sinai, and Marsa Matrouh.
At the end of the visit, Engineer Gaddafi thanked the school administration and teaching staff for their efforts in improving the educational system, stressing the company’s keenness to continue supporting technical education and providing an educational environment capable of preparing a generation of technicians qualified to work within the latest technologies in the field of water.
