Launch of the Electronic Vehicle Movement and Maintenance Program
As part of Mr. Al-Qaddafi Ibrahim Mohamed, Chairman and Managing Director's commitment to enhancing institutional performance, developing the oversight system, and improving resource management to support the implementation of best governance practices at the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, and in line with the directives of Mr. Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater, regarding the necessity of strengthening governance in water and wastewater companies as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development, the electronic program for managing fixed assets, specifically vehicle movement and maintenance (Fixed Assets Management System - Vehicle Fleet), was launched at a meeting held on Thursday, January 8, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Al-Qaddafi Ibrahim, and attended by Mr. Mohamed Matar, Head of the Planning and Projects Sector; Mr. Khaled Mustafa, Head of the Finance Sector; Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din, General Manager of Research and Development; Ms. Yosr Salah, General Manager of Board Affairs; Mr. Mustafa Ahmed, General Manager of Vehicle Movement and Maintenance; and relevant officials from the aforementioned departments. Mr. Gaddafi Ibrahim praised the program as a pivotal step towards developing the fixed asset management system, contributing to increased operational and maintenance efficiency and effectiveness, providing accurate data, comprehensive analytical reports, and a complete lifecycle for each vehicle. This helps prevent breakdowns before they occur and supports proactive cost planning, particularly regarding fuel consumption and operating expenses, similar to the MASTER program at water treatment plants.
Dr. Maysa Salah El-Din explained that the program was designed as an integrated system linking warehouses, human resources, budgeting, vehicle movement, and maintenance workshops, enabling comprehensive and accurate reports to support decision-makers at all levels.
Ms. Yusr Salah further explained that the program's launch is the culmination of years of collaborative work between various departments. During this period, procedures were developed and standardized, and relevant stakeholders were briefed before implementation. This reinforces the principles of transparency and participation and strengthens the corporate integrity system as a cornerstone of effective governance.
It is worth noting that the program was designed and implemented by the company's own specialists, in line with the corporate approach aimed at developing fixed asset management, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting digital transformation, which is one of the governance applications and one of the strategic objectives of Egypt's updated Vision 2030. This was commended by Mr. Engineer/ Al-Qaddafi Ibrahim, who praised the effort and constructive cooperation between the company's various sectors.
