Engineer Gaddafi Ibrahim, Chairman and Managing Director of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, received Engineer Nadia Abdo, former Governor of Beheira, and her accompanying delegation of female members of the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria. The visit held special significance, reflecting a spirit of loyalty and appreciation for her long and distinguished service to the water sector.
During the meeting, Engineer Gaddafi Ibrahim expressed his great pleasure and welcomed Engineer Nadia Abdo, emphasizing that her visit held immense moral value for all company employees. He cited her distinguished history and unwavering efforts during her tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company from 2002 to 2012, a period that witnessed a remarkable leap in performance and institutional development for the company.
His Excellency noted that Engineer Nadia Abdo is a shining example of conscious national leadership, having continued her distinguished career by serving as Deputy Governor of Beheira and then Governor of Beheira, consistently setting a benchmark for good governance and service to the nation.
The meeting reviewed Engineer Nadia Abdo's impressive career at both the local and international levels. She is considered one of the most prominent female leaders in the field of water and development, having previously been selected as one of the 50 most influential women in Beheira Governorate. She also served as a member of the People's Assembly, chaired the National Council for Women in Alexandria, and is a member of several international organizations and institutions specializing in water and sustainable development.
Engineer Gaddafi added, “Today, we extend a warm welcome befitting a great national figure and one of the shining symbols in the history of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company. Engineer Nadia Abdo is not a guest of this institution, but rather one of its own, a daughter who contributed sincerely and faithfully to building and developing the work system. We cherish her efforts during her leadership of the company, and we are proud of her distinguished career in serving the nation. We wish her continued success and further achievements, as she is always a source of inspiration for future generations.”
This visit comes as part of the Alexandria Water Company's commitment to strengthening communication with national leaders and distinguished experts, and as a testament to its appreciation for all those who have contributed to supporting the development and advancement of the drinking water sector.
In this context, the Inner Wheel Club of Alexandria covered the cost of connecting water to 40 of the most needy families in the villages of Borg El Arab and Amreya, affirming the role of civil society as a key partner in supporting the state's efforts to improve services provided to citizens.
Engineer Gaddafi Ibrahim emphasized that the Alexandria Water Company believes that cooperation with civil society organizations is a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development, and that these partnerships contribute to improving the level of services provided to citizens, especially in the most needy areas.
He added that the company continues to build bridges of cooperation with various civil society organizations to deliver water services to all citizens without discrimination, noting that community participation has become one of the strategic pillars of the Holding Company and its subsidiaries.
