Engineer Ahmed Gaber: Alexandria Water Company serves the Alexandrian community on sustainable development and economic foundations to provide basic aspects of life for deprived and marginalized areas

Among a group of the best sons of the nation who are known for their social responsibility, and as a result of the efforts made by His Excellency the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Mr. Engineer/ Tarek El Molla and Mr. Engineer/ Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation, in providing all support for a fruitful meeting that promises everyone constructive cooperation between the major entities of the service sector and its pioneers, and under the auspices and directives of His Excellency the Minister/ Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister; Today witnesses the signing of the joint cooperation protocol between the petroleum sector represented by the companies: "Sidpec, Ethydco and Gasco" affiliated to the Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Company "ECHEM" and the water sector represented by the Alexandria Drinking Water Company affiliated to the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater for the purpose of delivering drinking water to deprived areas and poor families in the Nahda area in Ameria in Alexandria Governorate, in addition to raising water awareness and developing the community with drinking water services and providing a clean cup of water that meets the health and safety purposes of every citizen. Based on the belief of Eng. Ahmed Gaber Shehata, Chairman and Managing Director of Alexandria Drinking Water Company, in the need to pay attention to marginalized and water-deprived areas, and to respond to the requirements of the people of Amiriya areas while providing them with the highest level of service, and based on the desire of the Ministry of Petroleum and its joint-stock companies to activate the role of community participation in the areas of community development and providing high-quality drinking water services, the desire of all parties met to cooperate to implement this project.

This event coincides with the issuance of statements by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and his directives on the need to take the necessary preparations to face the current challenges facing the country in terms of delivering clean drinking water to every citizen, and the need to spread awareness to rationalize the consumption of the currently available water resource.

Accordingly, this agreement comes within the framework of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company’s implementation of the necessary plans, programs, technical and hydraulic studies to implement the necessary pipe projects, connect the service from the main line, and install meters with a financial contribution from the petroleum sector, which is keen to demonstrate its social responsibility in extending a helping hand to provide healthy drinking water to citizens, and rationalizing energy and water in line with the current strategy of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, which includes the elements of continuous development and modernization of its policy in serving the community, considering them the nerve of development; which is reflected on the country in a decent manner based on the pillars of community participation, which in turn is a solid foundation for developing and advancing any society, in addition to sustainable development.
