The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company makes a statement about water outages in some areas west of Alexandria
**********************************
Engineer Ahmed Gaber, head of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company, stated that due to the heavy rain that Alexandria Governorate was exposed to during the past 48 hours, which resulted in a rise in water levels in the village of Algeria and the Desert Reconstruction Bank in the south of the governorate. Which led to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation taking a decision to drain excess agricultural drainage water from the Desert Reconstruction Bank into the Mariout Canal.
The head of the water company explained that due to the above, this led to the water quality being affected at the Kilo 40 station outlet, and therefore the drinking water company was forced to stop the Kilo 40 station. As a result, water was cut off in areas of New Burj Al Arab, Bahij, Gharbaniyat, and villages on the northern coast from kilometer 34 to Al-Hammam.
Engineer Ahmed Jaber continued, during his statement, that the drinking water company had developed another scenario for how to make a quick maneuver by managing the valves at the Alexandria Water Company to transfer water from the Alexandria city stations and deliver it to the Burj Al Arab lifter. The purpose of this is to cover most of the areas affected by the plant's decommissioning.
He pointed out that the Alexandria Water Company prepared water vehicles in addition to operating two pumps at the Borg El Arab city lift, which contributed to delivering water through the network to most places, especially hospitals.
