The visit was a field tour to learn about the capabilities of the Alexandria Water Company's Control and Crisis Management Center, the first of its kind among the companies affiliated with the Holding Company for Water and Wastewater.
This visit comes within the framework of implementing the directives of the Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, and aims to enhance integration and the exchange of expertise between water companies, support digital transformation plans, and develop mechanisms for managing and operating vital facilities.
Eng. Gaddafi Ibrahim expressed his pleasure at welcoming the Suez Canal Water Company delegation, emphasizing that this visit reflects the depth of cooperation and integration between sister water companies and embodies the state's direction towards disseminating successful experiences and maximizing the benefit from expertise.
During the visit, the advanced technical and technological capabilities of the center were reviewed, earning praise and admiration from His Excellency the Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Wastewater. The center represents a qualitative leap in crisis and emergency management, supporting decision-making and ensuring the continuity of service delivery with high efficiency and quality.
Major General Ahmed Ramadan and his accompanying delegation inspected the center's various departments, receiving a detailed explanation of the operational mechanisms based on the latest communication and monitoring systems. They learned about the center's role in receiving reports from operations rooms, issuing work permits electronically, coordinating with utility providers during repair work, monitoring station operating data, water pressure and quality around the clock, and tracking company vehicle movements and security status via a Geographic Information System (GIS). This enables accurate data analysis and the development of effective proactive emergency plans.
At the conclusion of the visit, Engineer Gaddafi Ibrahim affirmed that the Alexandria Water Company places all its technical and human expertise at the service of the drinking water and sanitation system nationwide, stressing that the Control and Crisis Management Center is a practical model for the digital transformation adopted by the state, and that the company welcomes transferring this pioneering experience to other water companies, which contributes to raising operational efficiency, speeding up response to crises, and improving the level of services provided to citizens, in support of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
