Signing of a Literacy Protocol between the Alexandria Water Company and the General Authority for Adult Education, represented by:
Mr. Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alexandria Drinking Water Company
and Mr. Emad Rady, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the General Authority for Adult Education in Alexandria
The protocol aims to eradicate illiteracy among some employees, their families, and the wider community by having the company open literacy classes for those interested and provide them with teachers.
Mr. Ahmed Gaber, Chairman of the Board, affirmed his commitment to providing full support to the union committee to ensure the success of the protocol and to make the company illiteracy-free, emphasizing the immediate activation of classes across all company branches and stations. For his part, Mr. Emad Radi, Director General of the General Authority for Adult Literacy, welcomed the Alexandria Water Company's initiative and confirmed that the Authority would provide the educational materials and administer the exam free of charge. The signing of the protocol was attended by: Mr. Yasser Saber, Head of Human Resources and Board Member, from the Alexandria Water Company; Mr. Kamal Abdel-Magid, Director of Public Relations; Mr. Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, Head of the Trade Union Committee; Mr. Ahmed Bilal, Secretary General of the Trade Union Committee; Mr. Reda Ghoneim, Member of the General Syndicate and Treasurer of the Trade Union Committee; and Mr. Mahmoud Khalifa, Member of the Trade Union Committee. From the General Authority for Adult Education, the attendees included: Mr. Tarek El-Askary, Director of Public Relations; and Mr. El-Husseini Ashou, Director of the Follow-up Department.
